the meaning of life is what you make it
it is all right there, you just have to take it
billions before you have managed to fake it
some shake it, most break it

it fails on the floor and cries help me please
i am the victim of a rare disease
i am a princess in disguise
you can tell if you look in my eyes

i am the meaning of life itself
please do not put me back on the shelf
with the cans of peas and kidney beans
though i do not wish to make a scene

i only want what is rightfully mine
which is to be immortal and divine
and live forever and a day
i do not know any other way

all you people who pass me by
with sneering contempt in your empty eyes
have you ever been speeding along in your cadillac car
or sipping a martini in an air-conditioned bar

or lighting up a cornelius and anthony cigar
and you suddenly realize you could be different from who you are
and it hits you like a hydrogen bomb
that you don’t know who you are or where you are from

as for the meaning of my own existence
for a long time i gave it some resistance
i do not know what tomorrow will bring
i only know i was born to be a king

and that is my poem, ralph concluded, i hope you liked it, because it expressed my deepest feelings about life.
